The true test of how good a company is how they handle events when things... read more do not go according to plans – ie Lukla airport closed due weather. After waiting a couple of hours at Kathmandu Airport it looked very unlikely that flights would operate for the first day of our trek, so Ganga sorted a helicopter for us so we could start our trek as planned. Although this cost a bit more, it was a memorable experience, flying at low altitudes with incredible views but more importantly it allowed us to keep to our original trekking plan.

We had a fantastic trek and thoroughly recommend the Gokyo Lake/Renjo La trek for those that like the quieter trails. We were lucky enough to get the same guide we had on our first trek with NHT – Gokarna is fantastic and we are so impressed with his knowledge, understanding, care and humour. We also loved our porter Tilak – his smiling face and laughter during our card playing sessions was a delight and not to mention our gratitude to him for carrying our gear over a snowy slippery pass.

Our guide Sanjay was very attentive throughout the trip and kind of customized our trip to our needs and liking. He was also very funny, and we could often hear him laughing while staying at the tea houses along the way.

Our porter was always around the corner or ahead of us, ensuring our bags always arrived on time.

This is the experience of a lifetime. Be prepared for the beauty around every corner, incredibly hospitable and warm people, and amazing food. I highly recommend Glorious Eco Trek if you want a trek to Everest Base Camp that will leave you with an experience that is better than you could have ever imagined.
